The University of Bath (UK) has been ranked as the third best university in the UK in the new edition of The Sunday Times University Guide and has being named ‘University of the Year 2011/12’ last year. The University of Bath was granted university status in 1966 and has more than 15000 students. The Department of Economics is very strong in research with one of the Research Clusters being Environmental Economics.

Michael Finus

Michael Finus holds a Chair in Environmental Economics. He joined the University of Bath in 2012. He held previous appointments at the University of Exeter (2009-2011), University of Stirling (2007-2009), University of Hagen, Germany (2001-2007). He works in the field of environmental economics and public goods, in particular on international environmental agreements. He has published widely in journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Public Economic Theory, Social Choice and Welfare, Public Choice, Environmental and Resource Economics and Environment and Development Economics. He also published several books such as Game Theory and International Environmental Cooperation (Edward Elgar, Cheltenham, UK, 2001). He is a Member of the Editorial Board of Letters in Spatial and Resource Sciences and Co-Editor of Environmental and Resource Economics. Michael regularly serves as a referee for journals like American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Games and Economic Behavior and Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. He also frequently serves on the scientific panel of the annual meetings of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. He was President-elect of the German Association of Environmental Economists (2008-2010) and Past President-elect 2010-2012, and is currently a Lead Author of the next report of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Michael is also a Research Associate at the Centre for European Economic Policy Research in Mannheim (ZEW, Germany).

Lucy O’Shea

Lucy O’Shea is an environmental economist. She is a full-time lecturer at University of Bath. She has published in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Ecological Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Land Use Policy and Science of the Total Environment. She has contributed as researcher on Integrated Nitrogen Model for European Catchments (EU Grant EVKI-1999-00011 and acted as Principal Investigator on two projects: British Academy Small Grant (2007) entitled ‘The trade-off between time and cost of achieving Water Framework Directive objectives’ (SG-46045) and ESRC small grant (2009) ‘Examining the variation in household recycling rates across the UK’. She has acted as referee for several journals, as well as, for the ESRC. She will work on WP3, WP4 and WP6.

Sunčica Vujić

Sunčica Vujić is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at the University of Bath since 2011. Her research combines applied econometrics and labour economics, with a focus on economics of education, crime, health, poverty and inequality. Her recent research interests also include economic and pro-social behaviour within organisations (social businesses) and returns to entrepreneurship. Additionally, she focuses on transition and emerging market economies, particularly Western Balkans. Methodologically, she uses a rich set of econometric tools applied to multi-source (survey and recorded) and multi-dimensional (cross-sectional, panel, time series) data. Her research in these areas has been widely published, including peer-reviewed papers in Economic Journal, Journal of Law and Economics, Environment and Planning A, Health Economics, German Economic Review, and Journal of Economics and Statistics. Prior to joining Bath, Sunčica held positions at the Department of Management and the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the London School of Economics (LSE), the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB), the ORTEC Finance Consultancy in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, and the VU University Amsterdam. She also taught at the University of Groningen and the University of Freiburg, and held a visiting position at the Amsterdam Centre for Entrepreneurship (ACE) at the University of Amsterdam.
