The faculty of Technology, Policy, and Management deals with complex societal problems, technical multi-actor systems, system innovations and changing & adjusting these by interventions. Within TPM, the Technology Dynamics and Sustainable Development (TDSD) section focuses on sustainable and responsible innovation with special emphasis on responsible & sustainable innovation & consumption, sustainability transitions, foresight & technology assessment and on participatory instruments like backcasting, stakeholder dialogues and stakeholder engagement in public acceptance, including local participation for sustainability. System innovation and integration in cities and urban districts are a major topic.

Jaco Quist

Delft University of Technology

Senior researcher & assistant professor with TDSD PhD on participatory back-casting in 2007. Current research focuses on back-casting, foresight, and (system) innovations for sustainability and includes practice-oriented design and local participation in sustainable urban developments. He is the (co)autor of a range of publications on participatory methods and experiments for sustainability and practices oriented design and the (acting) guest editors of special issues in Technological Forecasting and the Journal of Cleaner Production. He has been strongly involved in EU funded projects like InContext (2010-2013), ERAIHM (2010-2013), SusHouse (1998-2000). He will work mainly in WP4 and WP5.

Udo Pesch

Delft University of Technology

Udo Pesch is assistant professor at Delft University of Technology. He is affiliated to the department of Values, Technology and Innovation of the faculty of Technology, Policy and Management. His disciplinary interests include responsible innovation, science and technology studies, technology dynamics, environmental politics, public administration, and philosophy. He has published a range of articles on different topics, such as participatory decision-making, environmental policy, sustainable development, and the role of the public in technology development.

Wouter Spekkink

Delft University of Technology

Wouter Spekkink is postdoctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology. He works on the Glamurs project full time since January 2015 and is involved mainly in WP4 and WP5. Before starting in this position, Wouter Spekkink was a PhD student at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. His PhD thesis is on the process through which governments, companies, knowledge institutes and other relevant actors build up the capacity to engage in industrial symbiosis, a process in which firms engage in the exchange of by-products that were previously discarded as wastes. During his PhD research Wouter has also made major contributions to the development of Event Sequence Analysis (ESA), a set of methods, techniques and tools for the systematic, longitudinal investigation of social processes. Wouter has (co)authored several publications on industrial symbiosis and ESA.
