GLAMURS Newsletter 03|2014

Dear reader,

welcome to our final newsletter for 2014! What an exciting year with even more exciting events we have had in the GLAMURS project. After the beginning of the project at the end of January, followed by kick off-events of the individual case studies, we have recently hosted the GLAMURS stakeholder workshop “Co-producing knowledge for supporting transitions to sustainable lifestyles and a green economy in Europe” in Brussels. Policy-makers, scientists, representatives of European institutions and the European Commission gathered to exchange ideas on sustainable lifestyles and green economies. The input and feedback gained during this event will help us to re-evaluate and improve the contents of GLAMURS and to prepare ourselves with vigour for the following year. Continue reading

Creating synergies and communications among projects in FP7… Pressure cooker: “The role of civil society organizations in sustainability transitions”

Representatives of the projects ARTS, TESS, GLAMURS and TRANSIT participated in a “pressure cooker”, an intensive one-day series of presentations, critical reflections and small-group discussions in which they reflected on the best ways to create synergies in European research, as well as on the best ways to understand and study sustainable initiatives and their role in Europe.

Our project officer, Dr. Domenico Rossetti di Valdalbero, gave an inspiring presentation on the challenges of co-producing knowledge for sustainable transitions in Europe. We were also delighted to welcome representatives of four General Directorates of the European Commission at our event: Environment; Transport and Mobility; Research and Innovation; and Enterprise and Industries. A summary of conclusions of this workshop will follow soon. Continue reading
